Quiz Score Calculator
Quiz Score Calculator calculate quiz grade percent questions right score wrong answer countTurn question counts into a percentage
Enter whole correct and total question counts. Add a threshold only when you want an arithmetic pass comparison based on a known policy.
Score calculation
The score equals correct answers divided by total questions, multiplied by 100. Incorrect answers equal total minus correct. The page displays percentage to two decimal places when needed. It does not assign a letter grade because grade bands differ among teachers, schools, courses, and assessment systems.
Worked example
With 18 correct answers out of 20 questions, the score is 90% and 2 answers are incorrect. If an entered threshold is 80%, the result is at or above that threshold by 10 percentage points. A threshold of 95% would put the same result 5 percentage points below it.
Question count assumes equal value
This calculation treats every question as one equally weighted item. It is unsuitable when questions carry different point values, allow partial credit, include penalties, or are grouped into weighted sections. For point-based work, add earned points and available points instead or use the grading method supplied with the assessment.
Threshold is not a universal pass rule
The optional threshold simply compares two numbers. Enter it only when the responsible course or organization has defined that percentage. The tool does not interpret rounding policies, retakes, dropped items, curves, competency requirements, accommodations, or minimum scores on individual sections.
Check source counts
Confirm whether canceled questions were removed from the total and whether unanswered items count as incorrect. A displayed percentage can disagree with an official grade when the official system uses hidden precision or a different denominator. The official record and published grading policy control.
Limitations and privacy
Values stay in this browser. No student identity or result is saved or submitted. This calculator provides arithmetic only and does not predict course grades, eligibility, mastery, learning outcomes, or academic standing.
Quiz Score FAQ
Can correct answers exceed total questions?
No. That input is rejected because it cannot describe a simple question-count score.
Does 89.5% round to 90%?
The display rounds to at most two decimals, but threshold comparison uses the unrounded calculated value.
Can I calculate weighted questions?
Not with this page. Use earned and possible points under the assessment's weighting rules.
