The schedule arithmetic

Target hours are converted to minutes. Dividing by available days gives minutes per day. Days multiplied by sessions per day gives total sessions, and target minutes divided by total sessions gives each session's equal length. The result is a workload target, not a calendar with dates or reminders.

Worked example

Suppose a learner wants 12 hours of review over 8 study days with 2 sessions per day. The target is 720 minutes across 16 sessions. That equals 90 minutes each day, split into two 45-minute sessions. Breaks would be planned separately and do not count toward those 45 minutes.

Use the result as a feasibility check

A daily target that does not fit real commitments is useful information. Add available days, lower the total-hour goal, or adjust the number of sessions rather than silently carrying an impossible plan. More sessions shorten each block but also add setup and transition time that this arithmetic does not include.

What counts as study time

Define the target consistently before calculating. Active practice, reading, revision, flashcards, and project work can demand different effort. Decide whether breaks, class time, group meetings, or setup belong in the total. The tool cannot decide which activities improve understanding or how much time a particular subject needs.

Assumptions and limitations

All entered days and sessions receive equal time. The page does not predict grades, learning outcomes, fatigue, accessibility needs, retention, course policy, or a suitable workload. It does not skip weekends, reserve rest days, create events, or track completion. Session values may contain fractional minutes; round a practical plan while preserving roughly the intended total.
