Enter original and desired servings, then paste one ingredient per line. Lines beginning with a decimal, simple fraction, or mixed number are scaled; other lines remain unchanged for review.
Serving factor
The scale factor equals desired servings divided by original servings. Changing a 4-serving recipe to 10 servings produces a factor of 2.5. Every recognized leading quantity is multiplied by that same factor. Text after the quantity, including units and ingredient descriptions, is preserved.
Accepted quantity forms
Recognized lines may begin with a decimal such as 0.75 cup, a fraction such as 1/4 teaspoon, or a mixed number such as 1 1/2 cups. Denominators must be nonzero. The output uses a compact decimal with up to four places rather than trying to select a convenient kitchen fraction.
Worked example
For an original 4 servings and desired 8 servings, the factor is 2. A line beginning “1 1/2 cups flour” becomes “3 cups flour”, “2 eggs” becomes “4 eggs”, and “1/4 teaspoon salt” becomes “0.5 teaspoon salt”. A line reading “salt to taste” stays unchanged and is counted for review.
Review every scaled line
Recipes do not always scale perfectly. Pan size, surface area, evaporation, mixing capacity, leavening, spice strength, batch size, and equipment can change results. Cooking temperature and time do not automatically multiply by the ingredient factor. Check trusted recipe guidance and use judgment appropriate to the dish.
Units stay exactly as entered
The page does not convert cups to milliliters, ounces to grams, or volume to weight. A scaled value may be mathematically correct but awkward to measure, such as 1.3333 tablespoons. Convert or round only after considering acceptable recipe precision. Package-dependent items may also need whole-container planning.
Limitations and privacy
Ingredient text stays in this browser. The tool does not parse ranges such as “2–3”, Unicode fraction glyphs, quantities written as words, parenthetical alternatives, or quantities that appear later in a line. It does not analyze nutrition, allergens, food safety, ingredient substitutions, density, shopping quantities, or cost.

Why did a line stay unchanged?
It did not begin with a supported numeric form. Edit its quantity manually and review the summary count.
Will it adjust cooking time?
No. Time, temperature, equipment, and pan geometry require separate judgment.
Can it halve a recipe?
Yes. For example, changing 8 original servings to 4 desired servings uses a factor of 0.5.
