Choose a JPG, PNG, or WebP image. Drag the preview or adjust horizontal position, vertical position, and zoom until the subject fits the circle, then select Create circle crop. The tool downloads a transparent PNG. Use one source at a time so each profile image can be framed individually.
Position the subject inside the circle
The default framing uses the largest centered square. Dragging moves the crop across the source image. Position sliders provide precise horizontal and vertical control, while zoom uses a smaller source region for a closer crop. Reset Framing restores centered, unzoomed defaults.
Output size and zoom
Without zoom, the shorter image dimension becomes the PNG width and height. Zooming crops a smaller square and outputs that square at its native pixel size rather than enlarging it artificially. Pixels outside the circle become transparent. The file remains square because image files cannot have physically round boundaries.
Good profile-picture composition
Leave breathing room around faces, logos, pets, or products because circle corners disappear. Move the subject slightly above center when the image includes shoulders or a tall logo. Check the entire circular edge for clipped hair, lettering, ears, or product details before downloading.
Worked profile-picture example
A portrait is 1800 × 1200 pixels with the face near the right side. Move horizontal position toward the right, raise vertical position slightly, and add modest zoom. The resulting transparent PNG uses only the selected square rather than forcing the original center.
PNG transparency and platform display
PNG preserves smooth semi-transparent edge pixels. Some social networks display profile images inside their own circular mask, while others flatten transparency onto white or black. The uploaded result may also be resized or recompressed. Keep enough resolution for the destination and review the final public appearance.
Privacy and metadata
The selected image stays in the browser. The new PNG is encoded from pixels and normally omits EXIF, GPS, camera data, embedded thumbnails, and source color profiles. The original is not overwritten. Downloaded output should still be reviewed for information visible inside the picture.
Limitations and assumptions
This tool makes one circular crop at a time and does not add a border, shadow, or solid background. The file may be at most 30 MB and 40 megapixels. Animated sources are rejected. Transparent pixels can look solid if the destination does not preserve alpha.
