Convert one HEIC photo or a whole batch

Choose one or more HEIC or HEIF files, set JPEG quality, and select Convert to JPG. One converted photo downloads directly. Multiple selected files or multiple images stored inside one HEIC are packaged in a ZIP. Decoding and conversion happen on this device.

Why iPhone photos sometimes need conversion

Apple devices commonly save photos in HEIC because it stores detailed images efficiently. Some websites, older Windows programs, print services, and attachment systems still ask for JPG or JPEG. Conversion creates a broadly compatible copy while leaving the original HEIC file untouched.

Batch and bulk HEIC conversion

Batch, bulk, and multiple-file conversion describe the same workflow here: every selected image receives the same JPEG quality setting and white background treatment. Files are decoded sequentially to avoid loading every full-resolution photo into memory at once. A normal output keeps the source basename and replaces only its extension. Images extracted from a multi-image container receive numbered suffixes so none overwrite another.

Worked example

Suppose twelve iPhone photos must be uploaded to a property-listing system that accepts JPG only. Select all twelve HEIC files, leave quality at 88, and convert. The browser produces at least twelve JPEG files inside one ZIP, with additional files if a selected HEIC contains several images. Inspect faces, text, and shadow detail before deleting or archiving any originals.

Quality, color, and metadata

JPEG quality controls compression, not pixel dimensions. Higher quality usually keeps more fine detail but produces larger files. JPEG has no transparency, so transparent pixels become white. Re-encoding normally removes EXIF camera settings, GPS coordinates, embedded thumbnails, comments, and color-profile data. That can improve sharing privacy, but it also means this tool is not an archival migration utility.

Privacy and local processing

A locally hosted HEIC decoder turns each file into pixels inside the browser, and the existing local JPEG codec creates the download. Photos are not sent to an image API, cloud drive, or runtime CDN. Closing the tab clears in-memory work that has not been downloaded.

Limitations and assumptions

Each file may be at most 30 MB and each decoded image may be at most 40 megapixels. Every top-level image in a multi-image HEIC becomes a separate JPG, but Live Photo video components, depth maps, and editing history are not preserved. Browser memory can still limit a very large batch, especially on phones. Keep originals until every result has been checked.

HEIC to JPG FAQ

Are JPG and JPEG different formats?

No. The names refer to the same image format; this tool uses the shorter .jpg extension.

What happens when one HEIC contains several images?

Each top-level image becomes a numbered JPG, and the complete set downloads in one ZIP.

Can I bulk convert HEIC on Windows or Mac?

Yes. Use a current browser, select multiple files, and download the ZIP result.

Will the converter upload my iPhone photos?

No. File decoding and JPEG creation stay in the browser.
