Static means permanent, not editable

This generator puts the destination directly into the QR pattern. The result does not depend on an Awesome Tools redirect, subscription, or hosted account, so it does not expire. That also means a printed destination cannot be changed later. Test every final code before ordering signs, packaging, or a large print run.

Choose the right content type

A website code opens a fixed URL. Wi-Fi mode creates the standard network payload used by many phone cameras. Email, phone, and SMS modes create action links. A contact card contains a name, phone number, and email in vCard form. Plain text works for short notes or identifiers that do not need an app action.

Worked example

For a guest network named Maple Guest using WPA and password coffee2026, choose Wi-Fi, enter those values, and generate the code. Scan it with a second device. Confirm the displayed network name before accepting the connection; a QR code is convenient, but it does not establish that a network is trustworthy.

Error correction and print size

Medium correction is a practical default. Higher levels add redundant data that can help when a code is scratched or partly obscured, but they also create a denser pattern. Preserve the light quiet zone around the code, keep strong dark-on-light contrast, and avoid placing a logo over the center. SVG stays sharp at any print size. PNG is convenient for documents and social posts; choose a larger export when it will be printed.

Privacy and limitations

Generation occurs in this tab. Content is not uploaded by the tool. Codes are static and include no scan analytics, editable redirects, password protection, malware screening, or destination monitoring. Anyone who can scan a printed code can recover its contents, so never encode secrets merely because the pattern is not human-readable. Very long text produces dense codes that may scan poorly.

Will the code expire?

No. Static data remains in the image, though a linked webpage can move or disappear.

Which download is best for printing?

Use SVG when the printing software supports it, then retain the quiet zone and test the physical proof.

Can I change the link after printing?

No. Generate a new static code and replace the printed artwork.
